IIT Bombay Launches New Online Certificate Programmes in Cybersecurity and Software Development

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay has unveiled two new flagship Professional Certificate Programmes in Cybersecurity and Software Development, targeting working professionals, college faculty, and senior engineering students. These year-long, fully online courses are set to begin on September 1, 2025, with applications now open.

Each programme will run for 12 months and includes proctored on-campus examinations, offering a flexible yet rigorous learning model. The initiative is designed to equip learners with job-ready skills in two of the fastest-growing tech domains: cybersecurity and software development.

“We are bridging the critical skill gap our country faces through rigorous, accessible, and highly hands-on learning,” said Prof. Kameswari Chebrolu, Lead Faculty for the programmes.

Participants will complete three structured courses taught by IIT Bombay faculty, supported by weekly labs that replicate real-world tools and environments used by top-tier organizations. • Security Analyst

• Security Architect

• DevSecOps Engineer
